The health, safety, and well-being of every individual in our industry is the cornerstone upon which our members build.
To assure that the industry maintains their commitment to safety, MBA employs a full-time Director of Safety, who provides consulting services to our members. These services include information, interpretation, and consultation on OSHA regulations for member contractors. Members may also request that the Director of Safety review their jobsites and make recommendations on what needs to be addressed. For safety questions or assistance with training, please contact Bob McCall, Director of Safety, at 412.922.3912 or bob.mccall@mbawpa.org.
MBA also maintains an extensive list of Safety Resources and an industry-leading Drug-Free Program.

The Construction Advancement Program of Western Pennsylvania Fund (CAP) is a service organization established in 1961 by the Master Builders’ Association of Western Pennsylvania, Inc. (MBA) to address the needs of contractors engaged in commercial, institutional, and industrial construction.
Today’s contractors depend on CAP’s services to assist them in their day-to-day functions, as well as for unexpected emergencies. By sponsoring programs dealing with the latest developments in construction processes, CAP has earned a reputation as a leader among the nation’s construction organizations.
CAP is committed to providing and supporting quality educational programs designed to engender and enhance the success of the construction industry. Because of that commitment, the CAP Board of Trustees and the MBA Board of Directors are granting a scholarship to assist undergraduate students majoring in safety, health, and environmental applied sciences at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), Thiel College environmental safety management or Safety Management at Slippery Rock University (SRU). The $5,000 annual allotment of this scholarship is intended to provide the Western Pennsylvania construction industry with a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates to fulfill its employment needs.
